This project started in June 2022. While it's a relief to see it live, it's mostly just a reminder of how much work needs to be done. But before we get to that, we should acknowledge the folks who helped make it happen.
Thanks to Oliver for providing pretty much all of the data that makes this site move, and for kicking all of our asses into gear by organizing the trips that inspired so many of us to dive.
To Michelle for her tireless work moving mountains and digging through heaps of conflicting data for days on end when she surely had better things to do. Most of her work has yet to see the light of day, but as the articles for each wreck get written, you can rest assured knowing that all of the useful and interesting data came from her.
We had a few nights where folks like Sam and Johan came over and helped with some of the research, and their contributions are baked into the final result you see today. And thanks to Lewis, who probably did something but I can't remember.
Going Forward
Right now the site is essentially just a database. Eventually we want to have articles written for all of the wrecks, with all of their photos and information that exists. That will take some time. If you have any information about any of the wrecks here or would like to contribute, please get in touch.
Promoting Wreck Diving
We also want to make the site a place to promote wreck diving. If you have a trip coming up we can post it here on our blog, email it to our mailing list, post it on the wreck page, etc. If you are in Thailand or will be visiting and would like dive some wrecks, we would be happy to point you in the right direction and help get you in the water.
